Concordia College, one of ten post-secondary institutions in the Concordia University System of the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, is an historically black, four-year, coeducational college. The mission of Concordia College is to educate students through Christ-centered education for lives of responsible and effective service in the church, community,and the world. To achieve this mission, Concordia engages its students in programs and activities which identify and meet their spiritual, academic, social, and physical needs.
The unit of academic affairs supports the mission of the College to provide an opportunity for students to receive a quality education in accord with the teachings of the Christian faith to lead responsible lives and to provide effective service to the Church and their community. The curriculum includes an associate and two baccalaureate degree programs built on the traditional liberal arts foundation which provides the conceptual framework necessary for analysis and problem solving in society.
The academic unit also includes activities which promote the development of social concern and sensitivity toward the dignity and worth of each individual. The Christian campus atmosphere is supported by such activities as chapel worship, Bible study, dormitory devotions, intercollegiate and intramural athletics.
